At the moment, we are anticipating a schedule which includes:

Friday:
1600-1730 Busker’s Parade in Downtown Portland (for early arrivals)

Saturday:
0800-1100 Initial Registration, Meet and Greet, Photos Session(s) , possible test riding in infield
1100-1430 LCVMG Tour to Riverside Park and back
1500-1600 HPV Road Race for those VM’s wanting to race as a class and for non-racers, more visiting and test-riding/ photo shoots
1600-1730 LCVMG Symposium/Conference in Trackside Tower
1800-1900 Short track 4 lap race for all classes – and the rest of us would be getting organized to go to the TerraCycles/Stites Design open House at 1900.

Sunday:
0800-0945 Meet and Greet (Day 2), photos shoots, possible test-riding
0945-1200 Brunch Ride – a short-ish ride to a nearby spot for coffee and donuts or a light brunch/early lunch, looping back to PIR.
1215-1330 HPV Time Trial (VM’s eligible) 5 laps – for those who wish to race or to watch others race, then…
1330-1630 Afternoon LCVMG scenic ride along the Columbia River
1630-1745 Relax back at the infield, watch the HPV Road race, test rides, etc.
1745-1830+\- HPV Awards Ceremony
Dinner at Bortolami’s Pizza

Monday:
0800-0845 Meet at PIR for photo sessions, a morning scenic ride (depart at 0845 and return/finish by 1200).

Hopefully, this will provide:

  • more time on Saturday and Sunday mornings for the initial meet, greet and (possible) test ride sessions.
  • a repeat of last year’s Saturday ride downtown (in)to the fountain at the Tom McCall Waterfront Park (west side of the river). We will ride from PIR westward and then southwards along the Williamette River into the riverside park areas and then back for a total distance on the order of 25 miles. This delightful ride will commence after our initial “meet and greet” session – and we will plan to return to PIR in sufficient time for those who might wish to get some track racing time.
  • access onto the PIR track for HPV racing — for those who desire to test their legs and lungs — in the HPV 1 Hour Road race (in the SuperStreet VM category).
  • a Saturday afternoon (4:00 pm) seminar session for the VM faithful (before the TerraCycle evening event). Stay tuned for further news about this special session.
  • another scenic ride on Sunday to a brunch stop and back (though not as long a ride as last year’s Springwater Corridor ride) and if there is interest, we will have an afternoon ride, perhaps along the Columbia river.
  • for those who would like to race, there would also be the opportunity on Sunday to participate in the 200m sprints in the morning, an HPV time trial mid-day and/ or the HPV autocross mid-afternoon.
  • A dinner with the OHPV folk at Bortolami’s Pizza on Sunday evening, which will also be a great opportunity to get to know these various interesting people who have found their ways to Velomobiles.
  • A Monday morning breakfast Gathering and scenic breakfast (?) ride.

In addition, it appears that there will be an opportunity to join in the Rose Festival’s “pre-event” Parade on Friday afternoon/evening before the Gathering to showcase our VM’s and demonstrate their use as possible alternative transportation vehicles. More will be posted as this develops.
