I am a recent Oregon resident who has never actually seen a velomobile in real life. I believe in the concept and have read extensively about them. I am most interested in a practical tandem design as my wife is blind (and very strong) and there is absolutely zero chance of my buying or building a velomobile just for myself! I would like to visit the gathering during your Saturday 'Meet and Greet' just to see the machines up close. Actually test riding one wouldn't even be in my plans although it would be great if my wife could actually sit in one because she is used to our DF tandem and the whole idea of the recumbent sitting position seems odd to her. Questions: is the 'gathering' open to the general public? I think it would be great PR for the 'movement' if it were. Second, is there some sort of reduced admission for someone who doesn't intend to watch any of the races or participate in the program in any way. $25 each for my wife and I is a little steep just to stop by for a little while to visit with these wonderful machines.
